rear view

some idea of look from rear of car, hopefully will get the petrol tank panel, and boot lid sprayed etc, this week. need to source some fibre glassers light weight foam, will have to wait untill monday for compay to be open.

boot lid hinges

would have been better to have either replaced with aluminium alloy items, or quick release catches. next jobs are to price up custom pedals, for brake and clutch, and finish boot lid, and fit.

obsessive behaviour?

last time i rebuilt this car, i wanted to lighten the pieces. time prevented this, so this time i felt it called for. due to the nature of the car i can only think it a good move to remove weight where ever possible. i am not happy with the job i have done on this switch, so i will fit for the time being, and source another. the replacement i will strip completely, and find more areas to drill. this picture was taken before i scrapped paint off centre slide switch area.

the radiator should be able to sit at 45 degrees, aslong as i am able to mount water reservoir above top line of radiator, no air should be trapped. the only problem that presents itself is what fixing to use to hold boot lid down.

the rear most panel fixes to the rear light "n" pieces, with an additional fixing lower down, which is hollow to allow , the wires for rear number plate light, to pass through panel.

rear boot panels are in place to gauge holes for bottom radiator fixings. also i'll have to fabricate some carbon fibre brackets to fix sides on to centre curved panel.

at this time the shell is sprayed, and i am working on rear panels, in boot space, to mount radiator.

also i included a motorcycle petrol cap. i am hoping to block off rear window opening, with a panel that holds a camera, and mount screen in cockpit.

the roof also includes removable panels.

welcome to my blog. this will be mainly featuring the triumph spitfire i am working on, although other items will be included. the shell has a custom built roof, included are vents for air to be guided to rear mounted auxillary radiator. this is not an essential solution, just a differant way of doing things.
